I’m a freelance designer with a passion for set, prop, and costume design and making. Professionally I have worked on a variety of creative platforms that range from feature films to theatre performances, developing my skills across multiple design aspects.
I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2013 with a degree in Theatre Design which has fed my passion for hands on and practical experience; training me to me focus my energy on creating bespoke and stylised designs. Towards the end of my degree I collaborated on the music video ‘Hands up if You’re Lost’ for a local Nottingham band called We Show Up On Radar. The quality of my work was then recognised at the 2014 Limelight Awards winning two categories for ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Visual’. What I love about theatre is the excuse to be bold and eccentric. Some of my recent creations have been a handmade camel costume with a puppet mouth to spit at audience members, a doorbell puppet which screams when you hit the toe with a hammer and a dog puppet with an aesthetic look of being 'skinned'.
It’s the theatre side of me that brings out my creativity in film, where I work mostly in Production Design and Set Decoration. I really enjoy the creative process of starting from a concept and collaborating with other creatives to transform it into a project to be proud of. In 2016 I worked as Production Designer on a short film called ‘Time, and Again’ for which I was nominated for ‘Best Production Design’ at Birmingham Film Festival Nov 2017.
In 2017 I tackled my first feature film as Production Designer on a Tudor thriller called ‘Lapwing,' which is currently in post production.
